Pretty colours. Was hoping there would be less of that nail polish smell when applying but have read more into it and can see why not. Still has less toxic ingredients then others but the claim can be misleading. This does not easily wash off skin implying that the claim that it is water permeable is incorrect.

We just wanted to gently clarify a couple of points, as there can be some understandable confusion around nail polish terminology. Buds polishes are water permeable, not water soluble. This means that water and oxygen can pass through the polish to the nail, allowing the nail to breathe, but the polish is still designed to adhere while worn - so it won’t simply wash off skin with water like face paint or makeup would.
In terms of scent, all nail polishes (even clean/ “non-toxic” brands) require solvents in order to apply smoothly and dry properly. Buds doesn't claim to be smell-free, but what makes it different is that they're made with gentler, plant-derived solvents rather than petrochemical-based ones, and avoid many of the harsher ingredients found in conventional polishes. This results in a noticeably milder smell for many people, but not an odour-free product.
